Lauren Harms
Lauren graduated from the University of Queensland in 2006 achieving first class honours for her research on hip proprioception. During her study she also won the Margaret May prize for academic excellence.
Lauren joins Red Hill Physio after a stint in North Qld where she worked in a large private practice and private hospital. During this time she was exposed to a wide range of injuries and conditions, and treated NRL football players.
Continuing to develop her skills and knowledge base is a priority for Lauren, and recent courses she has attended include dry needling, Mulligan techniques, and Muscle Energy Techniques. With these skills added to her growing experience, Lauren is able to identify the cause of the problem and choose the most appropriate treatment and rehabilitation.
Areas of specific interest include childhood and adolescent biomechanical issues and sports therapy. Lauren has a strong interest in swimming, netball, and rugby league, stemming from her involvement in these sports. Having played all but league herself, a strong understanding of the individual sports demands allows Lauren to optimise the athletes return to sport.
